L'ho già detto che ADORO quest'uomo???Shatner/Takei feud continues in new book
Note to George Takei: Do not read William Shatner's new book. Or if you do, skip pages 12-13 and 145. And especially pages 51-59. They will not make you happy.
Shatner reserves some of his sharpest barbs for his old "Star Trek" co-star in his witty book "Shatner Rules: Your Guide to Understanding the Shatnerverse and the World at Large." He writes that Takei's been "saying mean things about me for nearly forty years now."
The Shatner/Takei feud heated up three years ago when Takei announced he was marrying his long-time partner, Brad Altman.
Takei has claimed he invited Shatner to the ceremony, but that he didn't show up. In his book, Shatner says he never got an invite and implies the wedding was just a publicity stunt anyway. (He writes the only reason Takei asked Walter "Ensign Chekov" Koenig to be his best man and Nichelle "Lt. Uhura" Nichols to be maid of honor was to drum up media attention.)
Shatner says Takei could never accept playing second (or third, fourth or fifth) banana to him on "Star Trek." On page 51 of his book he tosses this zinger: Takei "says that I have a 'big, shiny, ego!' Well, actors have big egos. If mine is shiny, it's because I tend to it very carefully and lovingly. Perhaps George's needs a good polish."
The book comes out October 4. I don't expect we'll see George lining up for an autographed copy.
