"Batman Begins" DVD Details

Rope of Silicon reports that Warner Bros. Pictures are set to release
this year's critically-acclaimed and highly successful hit "Batman
Begins" for release on retail DVD this coming October 18th. The film has
just passed the $200 million mark at the US box-office ($360m worldwide)
and is currently the third highest grossing flick of the year as well as
having displayed the "most longevity of all the summer tent poles"
according to Box-Office Mojo.

The film will be available in three different disc formats. For the
cheap ass there's two single-disc editions in widescreen and full screen.

For the proper DVD collector's there's a two-disc deluxe set containing
no less than eight documentaries covering the production, the batsuit,
the batmobile, the monorail chase, shooting in Iceland, fighting and a
look at incarnations of the Batman over the past 20 years.

There's also featurettes on the characters and weapons, an interactive
comic book, a stills gallery, trailer and a special collectible 72-page
comic.

Each edition will present the film in anamorphic widescreen (2.40:1)
with English and French Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Oddly enough the price
difference is minimal (RRP $29 vs. $31) although both versions are
already available for pre-order on Amazon for just $16.

BATMAN BEGINS Hits Shelves on Oct. 18th

Warner Home Video has announced that BATMAN BEGINS will be released on
DVD on October 18th. The film will be available in two versions: a
single-disc edition that contains the movie only and a two-disc edition
that includes a 72-page comic book and several hours of DVD extras.

The two disc set will contain "documentaries on the genesis of the Dark
Knight, the reinvention of the Batmobile and the development of
miniatures, CGI and effects for the Monorail Chase scene; a study of
Christian Bale's transformation into Batman; a spoof, "Tankman Begins";
and a featurette on the creation of Gotham City, the Batcave and Wayne
Manor."

Ho visto questo film al cinema.
Mi sono piaciuti gli effetti speciali ma non tanto la trama, Jocker non appare per niente. Mentre nel film precedente (Batman, 1989 regia di Tim Burton) era Jocker ad uccidere i genitori di Bruce Wayne.
Oltratutto questo Batman sembra una rivisitazione del film "L'uomo ombra" 1994 regia di Russell Mulcanhy che, per chi non l'avesse visto, parla di un ricchissimo playboy, Lamont Cranston, emigrato in Tibet dove è stato ammaestrato dal saggio Tulkul.
Rientrato a New York nel 1930, quando il crimine si scatena, veste i panni dell'Uomo Ombra per punire e ridicolizzare i malvagi.
Resto in attesa che il cinema americano faccia qualcosa di originale.

Questo film e' un reset, non c'entra nulla con la serie precedente, quindi sono partiti con un nemico che si potesse incastrare al meglio con cio' che volevano raccontare, ovvero la genesi dell'eroe. Si vocifera che nel secondo film apparira' il Joker, che comunque, nei fumetti non c'entra nulla con la morte dei genitori Wayne: questo infatti era un loop chiuso voluto da Burton per sottolineare la tensione del confronto tra i due antagonisti.

BB miscela diversi elementi del fumetto, come l'addestramento, narrati piu' volte ed in modi piu' disparati, non credo proprio che l'Uomo ombra c'entri qualcosa. ^___^

Io resto invece in attesa che uno, prima di criticare l'originalita' o meno di un film, conosca le fonti da cui e' tratto il film stesso.
In questo caso immagino che tu conosca tutte le storie che trattano dell'origine e dei primi anni di Bruce Wayne-Batman...
Ti daro' due notizie:
- Batman e' stato creato nel 1939 seguendo il filone degli eroi Pulp, di cui i maggiori esponenti sono Doc Savage e The Shaodow (appunto, l'Uomo Ombra). Quindi e' una caratteristica _nativa_ del personaggio.
- In alcune storie che narrano il percorso formativo di Batman, Bruce Wayne HA STUDIATO presso maestri orientali, dove ha imparato e perfezionato un gran numero di arti marziali, il che lo ha reso uno dei piu' addestrati maestri di arti marziali del pianeta.
