Update: Our science database server died on Tuesday, May 1st. We haven't been able to create new workunits since then (though we are still accepting completed results). Sun is graciously replacing this server. The bad news is, despite earlier claims, it won't be here until Friday the 11th, which means the earliest we'll be creating new work is Monday the 14th. Thank you for your continued patience! Updates, discussion, and more information about this and other server-related topics can be found in Technical News.

Insomma se ho capito bene fino a lunedi 14 niente WU nuove... nel frattempo se non volete lasciare le vostre cpu a riposo ci sono altri progetti seguiti dal team

Update: We got the new server yesterday, inserted our old disks and booted it up. It came right up, but verifying the file systems took overnight. The work is being created, the splitters and assimilators are working. It will be a while before we catch up. Thank you for your continued patience and support.

In sostanza il nuovo server è arrivato e hanno messo dentro il vecchio disco e sembra che vada, preparatevi quindi, fra poco arrivano le nuove wu!!!!!!

stamattina pare che rifunzioni, mi fa "Downloading work from server."

nella versione originale di Star Trek 4 - rotta verso la Terra, Chuck Norris doveva interpretare Scotty. Venne sostituito perchè nella scena in cui tenta di parlare con un computer del XX secolo il PC rispondeva per davvero. E andava anche a prendergli il giornale!

nisba... è da ieri sera che devo scaricare due wu...eppure quasi tutti i server vanno tranne quello addetto a "fix_missing_results" (aggiornato alle 13.46)
e sono bloccato anche con setibeta....

Adesso alcune wu le ha scaricate,ma ho dovuto lasciare i pc accesi praticamente tutto il giorno

Oddio... Come fate a scaricarne così tante? :-s Mi sa che mi sono perso un pezzo delle istruzioni :-s

Vai nel tuo account (del seti) -> General preferences -> Edit Preferences -> Network usage -> "Computer is connected to the Internet about every" -> impostare un numero da 1 a 10 -> salvare -> fare l'update sul Boinc Manager

In questo modo il BOINC scarica un quantitativo di wu pari ai giorni impostati (espressi in secondi nella schermata del BOINC), così anche in caso di down dei server (manutenzione o altro) il pc ha wu da elaborare (chiaramente , occhio a non esagerare in quanto le wu hanno una scadenza! e cmq se il down dei server si protrae è chiaro che anche la cache si esaurisce)

E' l'ideale anche per chi ha connessioni lente (tipo 56K) e vuole cmq partecipare (ricordo che l'elaborazione avviene anche se il pc è offline!)
