NOTIZIONA

Primo Atto
Secondo Atto

"...Maybe, just maybe, Benny isn't the dream... we are. Maybe we're nothing more than figments of his imagination. For all we know, at this very moment, somewhere, far beyond all those distant stars... Benny Russel is dreaming of us."

"It's said if you move but one grain of sand...
You run the risk of altering history."

THE DATA CLERK: Yeah...see the galaxy they told me,travel to new worlds...Get stuck in the butt end of the universe.
Hey,how...how did you...

X: Where's Kirk? Where can I find him?
THE DATA CLERK: I don't understand...
X: Answer me!
THE DATA CLERK: Captain Kirk...Captain of the Enterprise...He died...Twelve years ago...
X: No! How?
THE DATA CLERK: He died saving the Enterprise and hundreds of refugees.
X: Saving? Show me!
THE DATA CLERK: Yeah, it's... it's... it's not like it's classified information.
X: He died saving hundreds of people?
THE DATA CLERK: Millions, billions of people, entire planets. I don't think there's been a single person who's had the kind of influence...
X: And he wouldn't save me? I didn't wait forty year to be cheated!

Uhura's Log

Captain's personal log stardate 6712.4.
As head of Starfleet Linguistics my recent assignments have been most rewarding, so much so I'm finding it hard to believe it's been forty years since I was first assigned to the Enterprise under Captain Kirk's Command.
I should be elated to attend the ceremonies honoring his accomplishments, but the memory of his passing twelve years ago is still very painful.
And it doesn't help my dear friend Scotty is still missing, or that Sulu is away in the Gamma Quadrant for the next three years, or that Mccoy and Spock won't be able to break away from their negotiations with the Klingons.
All this has made me realize that something is ...mmmh...missing in my life.
Perhaps though, seeing some old friends and attending the dedication of a very special ship is exactly what I need.
Something we all need.

Enterprise NCC 1701-M

UHURA: Well as I live and breathe!
CHEKOV: Nyota!
COMMANDER KIRK: Captain Uhura. Welcome aboard! So how do you like our little ship?.
UHURA: Well I must say, Commander Kirk, it's beyond amazing!
CHEKOV: I agree. It's the perfect tribute to all who served aboard her, especially Captain Kirk!
COMMANDER KIRK: Thank you so much. Your presence here today really honors us.
CHEKOV: This...This almost makes me feel like a kid again!
UHURA: Well it should! The last time you sat in that seat you were a kid!
COMMANDER KIRK: Captain Checov, as our special guest...if you wouldn't mind.
UHURA: Go ahead. You know, you want it.
COMMUNICATIONS: Captain Uhura...
UHURA: Oh, thank you no. I've already put in my time...John, how good to see you again!
HARRIMAN: Looking beautiful as always.
UHURA: Oh...charmer.
HARRIMAN: Hello Pavel.
CHEKOV: Oh sorry,I was just...remembering.
HARRIMAN: Hello Commander. I'm John Harriman.
COMMANDER KIRK: Nice to meet you.
UHURA: So, what has it been, six months since I've seen you?
CHEKOV: What can I say? Starfleet Security is as full of red tape as any other department.
UHURA: Tell me about it...so what's happening with your promotion?
CHEKOV: Politics as usual. it's been so long. I'm thinking of retiring.
COMMANDER KIRK: Was I being obvious??
HARRIMAN: A little.
COMMANDER KIRK: I can't help it. They're living legends. My uncle told me everything about them.
HARRIMAN: ...about your uncle...
COMMANDER KIRK: He made his own choices. He lived and died exactly the way he wanted to.
HARRIMAN: I almost left Starfleet over that incident, but Chekov was aboard the day your uncle died, and he and Uhura convinced me it wouldn't have mattered who was sitting in the Captain's chair that day. And since then we've been the best of friends.
COMMANDER KIRK: Status Report.
COMMUNICATIONS: We've received a code one distress signal from an automated security beacon that's orbiting the planet with the designation M 622.
UHURA: M-622? but that's...
P.KIRK: A code one distress call? And Starfleet's only ship that's a museum?
HARRIMAN: A brave man once told me that risk comes with command in a starship.
P.KIRK: Helm, lay in a course.
CHEKOV: Deja Vu. All over again!

Guardian's Planet:

UHURA: Can't say that I've missed this place...
HARRIMAN: Any life signs?
CHARLIE: We don't need them...or those...
UHURA: Charlie...Charlie Evans?
CHARLIE: The singing lady remembers...
HARRIMAN: You know this man?
UHURA: We encountered him as a seventeen year old but even then he had extraordinary mental powers.
CHARLIE: This is better then I expected. Your captain didn't treat me very well...I looked up to him but he turned his back on me...He let the Thesians keep me prisoner for forty years, how long?
UHURA: Charlie, you took over the ship!
CHARLIE: He shoulda helped me.
CHEKOV: Captain Kirk's responsibility was to his ship and crew...Wait! You don't know what that structure can do!
CHARLIE: Oh, but I do!
CHEKOV: Earth!
HARRIMAN: What happened?
GUARDIAN: A question. He has passed into...what was... All that you knew has been altered!

Conqueror

XELA: The Shuttlecraft still refuses to answer our hails captain.
GARAN: We have the rebel vessel in the tractor beam.
KOVAL: Allow me the pleasure of destroying it!
XELA: Typical Klingon. Act first, think later... What do we gain by destroying it?
KOVAL: They are enemies of the galactic order!
GARAN: Captain, Intelligence indicates this vessel might be the one we have been searching for...
XELA: This could be very good for you...Capturing The Fox is sure to impress Curate Prime.
KOVAL: Man your station, tokhe straav, and leave the battle to the men!
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Koval, you need to be more cordial to Xela...
KOVAL: Why should I? She is a slave!
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Yes, but she is my slave. You need to remember that...Beam them directly to the bridge.
KOVAL: Is that wise?
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Oh, if you are afraid?
GARAN: Weapons!
X VOICE: Beam them over.
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: I'm so glad you could make it, so at last... The Fox has been outfoxed. Odd, I always imagined you'd be shorter.
KHITREC: I'm surprised you had the courage to meet me face to face
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Oh, if I had my way, you'd have been dead already.
Terrorists like you!
KHITREC: Terrorists? We fight for our freedom!
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Freedom? what is freedom without security? Nothing. The Galactic Order provides that security.
KHITREC: Only through fear and violence. Anyone who trades freedom for security deserves neither.
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Well I'm not going to have a philosophical debate with an Anarchist. The truth it is you are a traitor, the Curate Prime demands your head.I'll be the one who gives it to him.
KHITREC: We'll see.
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: How fitting that we should capture you today. You'll be witness to the beginning of the end...for all of you.Take them to the brig! Give them a full round of questioning.
GARAN: With pleasure...

Planet Vulcan

...Children, you must remember logic is the only way...
STONN: ...combining those techniques with Surak's non-violence confrontation methods...
TUVOK: Madame Uhura, do you require assistance?
UHURA: No, thank you. I am well. Adviser Stonn, would it be all right with you if we change the subject of this discussion?
STONN: By all means.
UHURA: Let us examine the old Vulcan adage "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"...I propose that that maxim is the most dangerous and misguided belief that I've ever heard.
TUVOK: Perhaps, we should pospone further discussion till our...next session.
STONN: Madame Uhura, I acknowledge the fact that you and Spock led Vulcan's efforts to secede from the Galactic Order. However to...to challenge one of our most time-honored precepts is highly illogical.
UHURA: Who decides the needs of the many are more important than the needs of the few? And more importantly, who gave them the right to decide that in the first place?
TUVOK: Are you suggesting that the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many?
UHURA: I'm suggesting that history proves it. It's filled with groups who've decided that their needs were more important than others'; the result? Slavery, genocide. You don't believe me? Just look at the Galactic Order...

Conqueror

KHITREC: It was as I feared. My transport disabled some of the components.
RAGNAR: Then we have to find another way.
KHITREC: We will, my friend. We will...

Planet Vulcan

TUVOK: Madame Uhura, Are you feeling well?
UHURA: Of course...Well I'm maybe just having a bad dream. But I... I keep seeing images, faces like I...I almost know them, but they are not quite recognizable...
TUVOK: Perhaps, it is... stress from the current state of galactic affairs.
UHURA: Perhaps.
TUVOK: You should rest before your meeting with Spock this evening.
TWO PART VULCAN/PART HUMAN GIRLS: Grandma!
UHURA: Oh, my darlings...oh, how good to see you! What have you been up to?
STONN: Wife...
UHURA: Oh, husband.
SEVAR: Mother...
UHURA: Sevar, my son. How good to see you! Glad you could come...T'Liel.
SEVAR: Your suggestion worked mother. The children have decided to make a list of possible names for their new sehlat.
UHURA: Ooh, cooperation between the two of you! Now that's what I want to hear!
SEVAR: You can be most logical at times.
UHURA: Of course.
STONN: And most illogical at others. I'll assist the grandchildren.
UHURA: ...I'll see you shortly.
SEVAR: You appear preoccupied.
UHURA: No, it's nothing son. I'm just a little tired, is all.
SEVAR: Would it have anything to do with the ruling council's stand on the galactic order?
UHURA: No. It's... Well, you may think me illogical, but I still believe seceding from the Order is not gonna get us anywhere. And it's not gonna end here.
SEVAR: They pose little threat. Their technology is considerably outdated and they rely mainly on fear, to which we are not susceptible.
UHURA: They may still be using ships that are over 40 years old, but their weaponry...is state of the art! And I just heard that they've created a new weapon that is capable...
SEVAR: Mother, we do not interfere with Curate Prime, so they should not interfere with us.
UHURA: You don't know that.
SEVAR: I'm sure the council knows what it's doing.
UHURA: The children are waiting. I'll join you shortly.

Conqueror

GARAN: Captain, the Omega device is activated and ready.
Navigator YARA: Approaching the planet.
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: On screen.
GARAN: Captain our assault forces have completely obliterated their defence fleet.
KOVAL: All that remains is the final blow.
MIRROR's HARRIMAN: Not just yet. Hold position at two million Kilometers.
Navigator YARA: Two million Kilometers, aye sir.
KHITREC: Vulcan.
HARRIMAN: Yes, the defiant planet about to serve as an example. I thought you may be interested in its fate.
KHITREC: Why should I concern myself with Vulcan? They refused to take a stand. They deserve their fate.
KOVAL: What is that, an ally or enemy? And they refused to be an ally, Captain. Why do you not fire?
XELA: Remember Curate Prime's orders...You can't afford to incur his wrath.
HARRIMAN: I live to serve. Fire!
KOVAL: Glorious! You see what their neutrality and peaceful ideals got them? None of you feeble little P'tak will ever learn. You must dominate...or be dominated!
