Faro' un po' di lavoro su "Of Gods and Men" questo weekend.

I looked up to him."

Sì, deve essere "i looked up to him" grazie!

"...Maybe, just maybe, Benny isn't the dream... we are. Maybe we're nothing more than figments of his imagination. For all we know, at this very moment, somewhere, far beyond all those distant stars... Benny Russel is dreaming of us."

Ciao !

Allora...

1. X HARRIMAN: Do you know this man?

Quello che hai scritto e' l'inglese corretto -- ma Harriman usa l'inglese parlato : You know this man?

----------

2. X CHARLIE: This is better then i expected. Your captain didn't treat me very well...I looked dote(?) to him but he turned his back on me...He let the Thesians to keep me prisoner for forthy years, how long?

forty years

Si', Charlie dice I looked up to him. Ho avuto ragione.

In piu', dice He let the Thasians keep me... senza to. Non si puo' avere to dopo let.

----------

3. X CHARLIE: He should had helped me!

L'inglese corretto : He should have helped me.

Quello che Charlie dice (l'inglese parlato--come un dialetto): He shoulda helped me.

----------

4. X CHECOV: Captain Kirk's responsabilty...

responsibility.

----------

He has passed into what was.

----------

6. X XELA: The Shadow craft still...

Shuttlecraft. In italiano (secondo http://www.hypertrek.org/index.php/traduzioni?&ndx=9 ): navetta

----------

7. (2?): Allow me the pleasure of destroying it.

----------

8. X XELA: Tipical Klingong.

Typical Klingon.

----------

9. X Garan: Captain, Intelligence indicates this vessel may be...

might be

----------

10. X XELA: This could be very good for you...Ketrick the fox is sure to impress (?3?)
KOVAL: (?4?)!

XELA: This could be very good for you...Capturing The Fox is sure to impress __________. (Curic Prime? Curic Pride?)

KOVAL: Man your station. Talk __________. Leave the battle to the men!

----------

11. X VOICE: People Over...

Beam them over.

----------

12. MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: I'm so glad you could(?) make it, so at last... the fox has been foxed. Odd, I alwais (?5?)

Si', could e' giusto.

...The Fox has been outfoxed. Odd, I always imagined you'd be shorter.

Correzione prima parte:

Sul Pianeta del Guardiano:

UHURA: Can't say that i've missed this place...
HARRIMAN: Any life signs?
CHARLIE: We don't need them...or those...
UHURA: Charlie...Charlie Evans?
CHARLIE: The singing lady remembers...
HARRIMAN: You know this man?
UHURA: We encountered him as a seventeen year old but even then he had extrordinary mental powers.
CHARLIE: This is better then i expected. Your captain didn't treat me very well...I looked up to him but he turned his back on me...He let the Thesians keep me prisoner for forty years, how long?

CHARLIE: He shoulda helped me.
CHECOV: Captain Kirk's responsibility was to his ship and crew...Wait! You don't know what that structure can do!
CHARLIE: Oh, but i do!
CHECOV: Earth!
HARRIMAN: What happened?
GUARDIAN: A question. He has passed into...what was... All that you knew has been altered!

Quì dipende dal fatto che non sono un esperto di TOS...e che non ho ancora visto gli episodi in lingua originale...Infatti nel celebre episodio "The Guardian of Forever", il guardiano pronuncia esattamente le parole "He has passed into...what was..." per poi spiegare "your vessel, your beginning, all that you knew is gone."

Conqueror

XELA: The Shuttlecraft still refuses to answer to our hails captain.
GARAN: We have the rebel vessel in the tractor beam.
KOVAL: Allow me the pleasure of destroying it!
XELA: Typical Klingon. Act first, think later... What do we gain by destroying it?
KOVAL: They are enemies of the galactic order!
GARAN: Captain, Intelligence indicates this vessel might be the one we have been searching for...
XELA: This could be very good for you...Capturing The Fox is sure to impress Curate Prime.
KOVAL: Man your station, tokhe straav, and leave the battle to the men!
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Koval, you need to be more cordial to Xela...
KOVAL: Why should i? She is a slave!
MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Yes, but she is my slave. You need to remember that...Beam them directly to the bridge.

Grazie davvero Mark.

2)Che Koval dice: "Man your station, tokhe straav, and leave the battle to the men."

Tuttavia Mark, dovresti spiegarmi che vuol dire "Man your station"

Infine per curiosità avevo chiesto:

"Finally a question about Stonn...as he could be the "Mirror Stonn", will we have a "Mirror T'pring" in the next episode?"

e lui mi ha risposto:

"you'll have to find out, won't you [:mauri152]"

Q. It would be a nice idea to create a subtitles .srt file or similar both for the impaired and for the foreign listeners that can read English well but can't hear it so easily.
Also, this subtitles file could be easily translated to other languages like Spanish.

A. I believe we are working on this, this is more Ethan's department (since he wrote it :) ) so i will wait for him to chime in.

Grazie, tutti !

"Curate Prime" e "tokhe straav"...

Tuttavia Mark, dovresti spiegarmi che vuol dire "Man your station"

E' tutto finito !

Ciao ! Buon lavoro, IlSisko !
IlSisko ha scritto:

MIRROR'S HARRIMAN: Oh, if i had my way, you'd been dead already.
Mi dispiace, ma non e' corretto.

Oh, if I had my way, you'd have been dead already.

You'd have been dead = You would have been dead

Subject + modal + base form of have + past participle of the main verb
per una situazione ipotetica nel passato.

Come, per esempio...

Neelix would have spoken illogically if he had tried to use Vulcan logic.

Dr. Bashir should have married Dax, but she fell in love with Worf.

Ma...

You'd been dead = You had been dead. E' the past perfect, come il trapassato prossimo in italiano.

Subject + simple past of have + past participle of the main verb per una vera situazione 'nel passato del passato'.

You had been dead, but Q snapped his fingers and now you are alive again.

1. La prima cosa che e' successa : You had been dead

Tuvok was angry because Tom and Harry had put hot pepper in his plomeek soup.

---------------

X Well I'm not going to have ___ philosophical debate with an Anarchist

...a philosophical debate...

---------------

X STONN: By own meant.

By all means

---------------

X KHITREC: It was as I feared. The transport disable some of the compònents.

disabled

Non sono sicuro, ma dopo "It was as I feared" credo che Khitrec dica "My transport disabled..." e non "The..."

Ragnar dice "Then we have to find another way.".

Le altre correzioni:

TUVOK: Madame Uhura, Are you feelling well?

(La parola "filling" vuol dire "stare riempiendo.")

UHURA: Of course...Well I'm maybe just having a bad dream. But I... I keep seeing images, faces like I...I almost know them, but they are not quite recognizable...

(L'inglese corretto : Well, maybe I'm having... Quello che hai scritto.
L'inglese parlato d'Uhura: Well, I'm maybe having...)

TUVOK: Perhaps, it is... stress from the current state of galactic affairs.
UHURA: Perhaps.
TUVOK: You should rest before your meeting with Spock this evening.

"...Maybe, just maybe, Benny isn't the dream... we are. Maybe we're nothing more than figments of his imagination. For all we know, at this very moment, somewhere, far beyond all those distant stars... Benny Russel is dreaming of us."

Quando insegno qui a New York, insegno in inglese.
